John Wayne

John Wayne began his film career during a summer break from college. He received a phone call from a production manager suggesting he had volunteered to work on an independent film. He assured her he had not, but curiosity got the best of him. John Wayne went to interview with the 1st assistant director. With absolutely no knowledge of film production, his interview was very short. A week later the production manger called him again and offered him a production assistant’s position on the same film. The shooting schedule was 16 hours a day, 6 days a week for 6 weeks and with compensation of $50.00 per week. John Wayne was placed in the Art department as a PA, but after 1 week he moved up to Set Dresser. Ironically the film he was working on turned out to be director George Tillman's (Soul Food, Barber Shop & Men of Honor) film "Scenes for the Soul". After the production wrapped, John Wayne continue to work with George and his partner Robert Teitel on music videos and other projects.
Shortly after that, John Wayne partnered with a local director
and formed a film production company. They started out shooting
low budget music videos for small labels. This ventured proved
quite successful, they moved from producing music video in 35mm
film for $5,000 to budgets quickly escalating. During this time
he went to work as a publicist for Grammy nominated music
producer "Steve "Silk" Hurley. Silk has worked with artist such
as Michael Jackson, Prince and Madonna. John Wayne started once
again off with little to no experience as a publicist and during
his 3 year stint, became Director of International A&R. He setup
and oversaw offices/agents in the
As his consistent need for growth continues, John Wayne has signed a multi-year deal to develop and produce original television programming for CoLours TV. CoLours TV is a national cable network available on the Dish-Network. His television division Johnny Nem’ Films has several programs in development for an air date of 1st quarter 2005.
With clients the world over, John Wayne is on a mission for consistent growth.

The producer is the great enabler of the
motion picture process, the person who makes it all possible.
Joel has worked in the entertainment industry for almost a decade. He
has had a life long passion for movies and music. Joel started his
entertainment career in 93’ by doing street promotions for small indie
record labels in his home town of Chicago. He eventually teamed
up with John Wayne while they were both employed at Silk
Entertainment. He has been an integral part of the JWS family
ever since.
Joel has worked his way up the ranks at JWS, from Production Assistant
to Co-Executive Producer of Johnny Nem’ Films. He has been
involved in just about every project at JWS to date. He looks
forward to Producing the exciting slate of Johnny Nem films.
Joel has successfully lived by the creed, "I don't believe in
circumstances. The people, who get on in this world, are the
people who get up and look for the circumstances they want."
Joel brings many worldwide industry contacts and extensive PR talents
to the table. But more than anything else, Joel brings determination
and a never die attitude to JWS.
Shelia Plon
Associate Producer
Shelia has been making films since she was 8 years old. As an Associate Producer for JWS, she coordinates production formatting and pre production. Shelia brings her experience of producing documentary films to JWS.
Brian Loften
Production Manager
Brian Loften has worked as a producer and production manager in feature film and video production for commercials, music videos, and documentaries. He has been a writer for 15 years. Brian brings his strong industry contacts and organizational skills to JWS.
